Anti Virus Software Settings for Bulk Emailing

Modern anti-virus software is designed to prevent your computer from sending thousands of emails to people. This is because many viruses spread by hijacking your computer, and sending emails. Unfortunately, this is exactly the task that you need to perform with Contactulator.

In fact, some anti-virus software will intercept all outgoing traffic on your PC, and from the point of view of the sending program, it will make it appear that all of the email was sent successfully. Then the anti-virus software silently decides to discard all of the email. Obviously, this behaviour needs to be switched off.

Unfortunately, there is no way to know exactly how to do this for every particular program, but most make it fairly obvious in their setup pages that they do this. McAfee documents this as "WormStopper".
