With our integrated postcode search facility, you can easily find contacts in a region. Simply specify the postcode, and how far you want to cast your net, and contactulator will do the rest.
The program does not come with a database of UK postcodes, but you can use any list yourself.
When the program first loads, it opens the file %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Wieser Software\Contactulator\postcodes.txt
The database is very simple. It includes the first portion of the postcode, as well as x, y, lattitude and longitude coordinates, separated by tab characters. The x and y values are used by the program, and are expressed in meters from some point off the west coast of the Scilly Isles, although any origin will work, so long as all entries are consistent.
Postcodes which cannot be found in the database are excluded, and if no file is available, the search option will not be available.
It turns out that postcodes are not in the public domain in the UK, and not all of our customers are in the UK anyway. There are free UK postcode databases available on the internet.
