Composing email messages for Contactulator
First, make sure that you have marked all the contacts you want to email. The email will be sent to everyone who is currently marked as the selected, using the current selection criteria. If a contact is marked as blacklisted or as never email they will not be included, even if they are selected.
Remember, that it is the current selection criteria that is used, not necessarily the ones marked for email merge. The criteria are only labels.
Beginning the mailing
To begin, press the button.
After you do this, the current Email Server Settings are displayed with a button to allow you to edit them if they are incorrect.
You are also asked for the subject of your message, as well as who the message is To. You should enter a generic to address, such as "Valued Customers of MyBusiness.Com". This is because the email is not delivered individually to every recipient. Instead, the email is sent in batches to speed up the sending process, and reduce the amount of bandwidth you use on your system.
Entering the body of the message
You can either type out a simple text message in the box provided, or you can use a preprepared email in HTML format.
To use the prepared option, Compose your email in the tool of your choice, and then press the button to select the file to send. Contactulator will automatically open the file, and include any images that are referenced in the file, if they are available on your local disk, and send them with the email.
Sit back and relax
After you press the button, the program will connect to your mail server, and start sending. You can keep track of the status of the mailing by looking in the status bar of the program, where it will tell you how many emails remain to be sent, and how many jobs there are remaining.
